        Take a look around your house. Clutter can be a real distraction to potential buyers. Make sure all horizontal surfaces are neat and polished. Homeowners want to be able to picture themselves living in the space. Clutter can be a turn off for buyers.
        Do some simple updates. This is called big impact, little money. Replace old hardware in the kitchen and bathroom. This will make your cabinets look newer even if they aren't. Make sure all lighting fixtures have working light bulbs. Potential buyers want to be able to see your home.
        Give the front door a fresh coat of paint. Remember the front door is how your home greets potential buyers. Make sure that first impression is inviting.
        Try to keep your interior as neutral as possible. White walls will make a homebuyer think fresh and clean. Old wallpaper should probably removed.
        Think clean. Give your home a thorough cleaning. Wash your windows. Put away the dishes from the sink. This is really simple, but potential buyers will notice.
        It isn't too over the top to want your house to appear perfect. Bake some cookies before an open house or a showing. Smell is linked to memory. If a potential buyer feels nostalgic while visiting your home they may want to make new memories there.
